Thornton Backyard Flagstone Patio and Landscape Project

The Thorpe Project in Thornton was built as a full backyard outdoor living space with a large flagstone-style patio, circular fire pit, fresh sod, planting beds, boulders, mulch, trees, shrubs, and low voltage lighting. The goal was to create a polished backyard that felt open, usable, and finished from the patio all the way out to the fence line.

FRSR installed a large custom patio with a natural flagstone look, giving the homeowners a durable outdoor surface for tables, seating, and everyday backyard use. The patio was shaped to flow with the home and yard instead of feeling like a plain square slab.

A circular fire pit was added as a focal point within the patio area. This gives the space a natural gathering point and makes the backyard more usable during Colorado evenings.

The patio steps were built to transition cleanly from the home down to the outdoor living area. These details help the entire patio feel connected to the house instead of looking like an afterthought.

Around the patio, FRSR installed fresh sod, mulch beds, boulders, trees, shrubs, and perennials to soften the hardscape and give the backyard color, texture, and long-term structure. The larger evergreen plantings and shade trees help frame the yard while keeping the lawn open and usable.

Low voltage lighting was also included to highlight key landscape areas and help the patio and planting beds look finished after dark.
