Castle Rock Outdoor Living Project with Stamped Concrete, Rock, Boulders & Planting Beds

The Short Project in Castle Rock was built as a complete backyard and side yard landscape construction project designed to create usable outdoor space while reducing maintenance throughout the property.

FRSR installed a stamped concrete patio area off the back of the home to create a durable outdoor living space for seating, entertaining, and everyday use. The patio includes a textured finish, clean control joints, and a finished edge that gives the space a polished look.

The project also included new concrete walkways and side yard access to make movement around the home easier and cleaner. These hardscape areas help connect the home, patio, side yard, and landscape zones into one functional layout.

Decorative rock was installed throughout the side and backyard areas to create a low-maintenance groundcover that fits the Castle Rock setting. River rock was used to help define drainage-friendly areas and add contrast against the patio, steppers, mulch beds, and planting zones.

Natural stone steppers were added to improve access through the landscape while keeping the space organic and Colorado-ready. These steppers connect the patio to the wider yard and help guide movement through the finished outdoor space.

The landscape areas were completed with trees, evergreens, shrubs, boulders, mulch beds, and clean edging. These details soften the hardscape, add texture, and give the yard a finished look without relying on high-maintenance planting areas.

The finished Short Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, decorative rock, river rock, boulders, steppers, mulch beds, plantings, and clean access can turn a new construction yard into a usable and finished Colorado outdoor living space.
