Broomfield Backyard Hardscape Project

The Schilling Project in Broomfield was built as a full hardscape-focused backyard outdoor living space. This project did not include landscape installation. The focus was on creating a durable, functional, and finished entertainment area using stamped concrete, stone masonry, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, and custom seat walls.

FRSR installed a large stamped concrete patio to create the main outdoor living surface. The patio gives the homeowners a wide, open area for furniture, cooking, gathering, and everyday backyard use while adding a decorative finish that feels much more custom than plain gray concrete.

The stamped concrete was finished with a natural stone-style texture and warm color tones to complement the stone masonry throughout the backyard. This helped tie the patio, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and seat walls together into one cohesive hardscape design.

A custom outdoor kitchen was built with natural stone veneer and a built-in stainless steel grill. The kitchen area creates a strong focal point and gives the patio a true outdoor entertaining function.

FRSR also built a circular stone fire pit as a central gathering feature. The fire pit was designed to match the masonry style of the outdoor kitchen and seat walls, creating a consistent look throughout the project.

Curved stone seat walls were added around the fire pit and outdoor kitchen areas to help define the space while providing permanent seating and visual structure. The stonework gives the backyard height, texture, and a more complete outdoor living feel.

The finished Schilling Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, an outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and seat walls can turn a backyard into a true hardscape entertainment space built for Colorado outdoor living.
