Denver Backyard Patio and Pergola Outdoor Living Project

The Rodger Project in Denver was designed as a warm, functional backyard upgrade that combines stamped concrete, a custom pergola, seat wall, landscape lighting, rock, mulch, and lawn areas into one finished outdoor living space.

FRSR installed a large stamped concrete patio around the back of the home to create a durable entertaining area with a more custom look than standard gray concrete. The patio includes a natural stone-style stamp pattern, warm coloring, curved edges, and a layout that connects the door, seating area, grill space, and yard.

A custom wood pergola was added over the main patio area to create shade, structure, and visual interest. The pergola helps define the outdoor dining and gathering space while matching the natural character of the backyard.

Curved stamped concrete steps were built at the back entry to create a smooth transition from the home down to the patio. These details help the patio feel intentional and built-in instead of added as a basic slab.

The project also includes a custom seat wall and firepit-style focal area along the concrete edge. The stone wall adds structure, extra seating, and a finished border between the stamped concrete patio and the surrounding concrete drive or walkway area.

Decorative rock, mulch beds, lawn, and clean landscape borders were installed to soften the hardscape and make the backyard feel complete. These details help balance the patio and pergola with a more natural Colorado outdoor setting.

Low-voltage landscape lighting was added throughout the patio and landscape areas to highlight the edges, improve evening visibility, and extend the use of the space after dark.

The finished Rodger Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, pergolas, seat walls, lighting, rock, mulch, and landscape construction can come together to create a polished Denver backyard built for everyday outdoor living.
