Erie Backyard Outdoor Living Project with Stamped Concrete, Fire Pit & Retaining Wall

The Roberts Project in Erie was built as a complete backyard landscape construction and outdoor living project with a strong focus on usable patio space, clean grade transitions, low-maintenance rock areas, and curb appeal from the rear of the home.

FRSR installed a large stamped concrete patio that creates a durable outdoor living surface off the back of the house. The patio includes a rounded layout, textured finish, and enough usable space for seating, entertaining, and gathering around the fire pit.

A custom stone fire pit was added as the main focal point of the patio. The circular fire feature helps anchor the outdoor living area and gives the backyard a natural destination for relaxing and entertaining.

Because of the yard elevation, the project also included a retaining wall and concrete step system to create a cleaner transition between the patio, lawn, and lower landscape areas. These features help make the yard more usable while giving the project a finished, built-in look.

Decorative rock, steppers, planting areas, shrubs, trees, and sod were added to complete the landscape. The rock areas reduce maintenance, while the sod keeps the backyard green and usable.

Low-voltage lighting was also included throughout the space to highlight the patio, steps, wall, and landscape details. This gives the project better evening function and helps show off the hardscape after dark.

The finished Roberts Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, a custom fire pit, retaining walls, steps, rock, sod, planting beds, and lighting can work together to create a complete Colorado backyard.
