Aurora Backyard Renovation Featuring a London Cobble Stamped Concrete Patio

The Richard Project in Aurora focused on transforming an underused backyard into a clean, functional outdoor living space centered around a custom London Cobble stamped concrete patio.

FRSR installed a large decorative stamped concrete patio directly off the existing deck area. The London Cobble pattern gives the patio the look of natural stone while keeping the strength, durability, and lower maintenance benefits of concrete.

The curved patio layout softens the backyard and creates a more natural flow through the space. This gives the homeowner a dedicated area for outdoor seating, grilling, entertaining, and everyday backyard use.

To improve access from the home into the yard, new deck stairs and landing improvements were incorporated into the layout. This created a better transition between the deck and the new stamped concrete patio.

Decorative river rock was installed along the fence line and planting areas to help keep the backyard clean and low maintenance. The rock borders also define the lawn and patio areas while adding texture throughout the space.

Evergreen privacy plantings were added along the perimeter to soften the fence line and create year-round screening. These plantings help the backyard feel more finished while providing color and structure through every season.

The existing turf area was preserved to keep usable green space in the yard. The final layout balances lawn, stamped concrete, rock, plantings, and deck access into one practical backyard design.

The finished Richard Project is a strong example of how a London Cobble stamped concrete patio, landscape rock, privacy plantings, and improved outdoor access can upgrade the function and appearance of a Colorado backyard.
