Broomfield Backyard with Stamped Concrete, Sod and Low-Maintenance Landscaping

The Ralph Project in Broomfield brought together stamped concrete, new lawn, planting beds, decorative rock, and carefully placed landscape features to create a finished backyard that feels both inviting and practical.

FRSR installed an expansive stamped concrete patio along the back of the home, giving the homeowners a durable outdoor surface for seating, entertaining, and everyday use. The stamped pattern and warm color complement the exterior stone and siding while giving the patio a more custom appearance than standard gray concrete.

The patio connects to a curved stamped concrete walkway that moves naturally through the side yard and landscape. Rounded steps were incorporated at the back door to create a clean and comfortable transition from the home into the outdoor living space.

New sod was installed to provide an open green lawn while keeping the surrounding landscape lower maintenance. Decorative rock beds frame the property and help reduce the amount of grass that must be watered and maintained.

Mulch planting islands were added throughout the yard to bring contrast and soften the hardscape. The beds include a mix of shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and young trees selected to provide structure, seasonal interest, and additional color as the landscape matures.

Accent boulders were placed throughout the rock beds to create a more natural Colorado look and add height and texture to the design. Low-voltage landscape lights were also incorporated along the walkway and planting areas to improve visibility and highlight the landscape after dark.

The completed Ralph Project gives the homeowners a balanced outdoor space with plenty of usable patio and lawn, while the rock, mulch, plantings, boulders, and lighting create a finished landscape around the entire yard.
