Arvada Backyard Outdoor Living Project

The Miller Project in Arvada was built as a complete backyard transformation with a strong focus on outdoor living, shade, structure, and finished landscape detail. FRSR combined a custom cedar pergola, paver patio areas, curved stone seat walls, masonry columns, sod, fencing, decorative rock, boulders, mulch beds, trees, shrubs, and plantings into one finished Colorado backyard.

The backyard started as a rough open space with dirt, construction layout lines, and a planned walkway and patio footprint. FRSR shaped the space into a usable outdoor living area with strong hardscape structure and clean landscape transitions.

A custom cedar pergola was built to create shade and give the patio a true outdoor room feel. The pergola includes large cedar posts, detailed overhead framing, and masonry column accents that tie the structure into the rest of the hardscape.

The paver patio gives the homeowners a durable and comfortable area for outdoor furniture, entertaining, and everyday use. The circular paver seating area and curved seat wall create a strong focal point while taking advantage of the open Colorado views behind the property.

Stone columns and seat wall details help define the space while adding texture, height, and long-term curb appeal. These hardscape elements give the backyard a more custom feel and help separate the patio from the surrounding lawn and landscape beds.

Fresh sod was installed to create a clean green lawn area around the patio. The lawn softens the hardscape and gives the backyard an open, usable feel for family use, pets, and entertaining.

FRSR also installed mulch beds, decorative rock, boulders, trees, shrubs, plantings, and fencing throughout the yard. These elements add structure, color, and Colorado texture while helping the outdoor living space feel complete from every angle.
