The Michael project combines a generous stamped concrete patio with a stone firepit, an open sod lawn and planting around the edges. The patio connects to the home's covered porch through wide concrete steps, while rock borders and planting beds give the lawn a clear shape.
Stamped Concrete with a Natural Stone Look
The patio's warm brown finish and irregular stone-style pattern complement the home's stone exterior. Its broad layout stretches across the back of the house, providing space for outdoor furniture and a separate gathering area around the firepit.
Shaped edges soften the transition to the lawn. Matching stamped concrete steps connect the upper porch level to the main patio, carrying the same finish through the change in elevation.
A Stone Firepit as the Gathering Point
The round firepit sits within the main patio area. Its stone-faced surround, light-colored cap and lava-rock center add contrast to the darker concrete and give the backyard a clear focal point for gathering.
Fresh Sod and Colorful Planting Beds
An open sod lawn balances the hardscape and leaves room for everyday backyard use. Mulch beds near the home contain flowering plants and smaller shrubs, with rounded stone borders separating the planting from the grass.
