Arvada Backyard Outdoor Living Project

The Harvey Project in Arvada was built as a full backyard transformation with a strong focus on outdoor living, shade, structure, and finished landscape detail. FRSR combined stamped concrete, a custom cedar pergola, stone columns, a curved seat wall, sod, decorative rock, boulders, trees, shrubs, and mulch beds into one complete Colorado backyard.

The project started with a large stamped concrete patio and walkway layout designed to create usable outdoor living space while connecting the home to the rest of the yard. The stamped concrete gives the patio a finished look while keeping the space durable and functional for everyday use.

A custom cedar pergola was added to create shade, height, and a true outdoor room feel. Stone columns were incorporated into the pergola area to tie the structure into the rest of the hardscape and give the backyard a more finished, built-in look.

The curved seat wall helps define the patio space while creating extra seating around the outdoor living area. This gives the backyard a natural gathering spot and adds both function and visual interest to the design.

FRSR also installed fresh sod, mulch beds, decorative rock, boulders, trees, shrubs, and plantings throughout the backyard. These landscape elements soften the hardscape, add Colorado texture, and help the yard feel complete from every angle.

The finished Harvey Project is a great example of how pergolas, stamped concrete, seat walls, sod, boulders, and landscape construction can work together to create a backyard that feels custom, functional, and ready for Colorado outdoor living.
