Erie Backyard Outdoor Living Space with Stamped Concrete, Firepit & Rock Landscape

The DePaul Project in Erie was designed as a clean backyard outdoor living space with stamped concrete, a custom firepit, curved seat wall, decorative rock, boulders, mulch beds, and planting areas. The finished project gives the homeowner a usable patio space while keeping the surrounding landscape low maintenance and Colorado-ready.

FRSR installed a stamped concrete patio as the main outdoor living surface. The decorative concrete finish adds texture and color while creating a durable space for seating, grilling, and everyday backyard use.

A custom stone firepit was built into the patio as the main gathering feature. The firepit includes a stone face, capstone top, and colored fire rock center, creating a strong focal point near the outdoor seating area.

The curved stone seat wall helps define the firepit area and adds extra seating without closing off the patio. This gives the outdoor living space more structure while still keeping the layout open and comfortable.

Decorative rock and river rock were installed around the patio to reduce maintenance, improve drainage, and create clean transitions between the home, patio, planting beds, and side yard areas.

Large boulders, mulch beds, shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses were added throughout the landscape to bring texture, color, and long-term interest to the yard. These details soften the hardscape and help the space feel more complete.

The project also included stepper access and landscape lighting details to improve function and evening use. These finishing touches help the backyard feel organized, polished, and ready for everyday outdoor living.
