Erie Backyard Landscape with Concrete Patio, Seat Wall, Sod & Boulder Water Feature

The Ball Project in Erie was designed as a complete backyard landscape upgrade with a strong mix of outdoor living space, lawn, rock, plantings, and custom hardscape details. The finished project gives the homeowner a clean backyard layout with areas for seating, gardening, relaxing, and everyday use.

FRSR installed a concrete patio as the main outdoor living surface, creating a durable space for seating, grilling, and gathering. The patio layout was designed with clean curves and open transitions so the space feels connected to the lawn and surrounding landscape.

A curved stone seat wall was built along the patio edge to create additional seating and help define the outdoor living area. The wall adds structure to the patio while keeping the backyard open and easy to move through.

The backyard includes a new sod area that provides a usable green space while decorative rock and plantings help keep the rest of the yard lower maintenance. The lawn is framed with rock borders and planting areas to create a finished Colorado landscape look.

One of the key features of this project is the custom three-boulder cored water feature. These cored boulders create a natural water feature and focal point near the patio, adding sound, movement, and a more relaxing feel to the outdoor space.

FRSR also installed decorative rock, river rock, accent boulders, grasses, shrubs, and planting beds throughout the yard. These landscape elements help soften the concrete and stonework while adding texture, color, and long-term interest.

A raised garden bed and flagstone stepper paths were added along the side yard to create a practical growing area and clean access through the landscape. These details help make the backyard more functional while keeping the overall design natural and organized.

The completed Ball Project is a strong example of how concrete patios, seat walls, sod, decorative rock, raised garden beds, plantings, and custom cored boulder water features can work together to create a complete backyard outdoor living space.
