Stamped Concrete Patio, Pond and Backyard Landscaping in Firestone

The Riteman Project in Firestone was designed to turn a basic backyard into a more finished and inviting outdoor space. FRSR combined a curved stamped concrete patio, a naturalistic pond and water feature, new sod, decorative rock, mulch planting beds, trees, boulders, and landscape improvements to create a backyard with several distinct areas that still flow together naturally.

The main outdoor living area features a large stamped concrete patio with a soft, rounded shape. Instead of using a standard square slab, the patio was designed with curved edges to create a more natural transition into the surrounding lawn and landscape.

A natural stone-style stamped pattern and warm earth-tone coloring give the concrete more character while complementing the exterior colors and stonework on the home. The finished patio provides plenty of usable space for outdoor furniture, dining, entertaining, or relaxing near the yard’s water feature.

The patio was positioned near the existing deck and backyard entrance, creating a convenient connection between the home and the lawn. Its raised edge and finished border help define the outdoor living area while following the existing grade of the property.

One of the main features of the project is the custom pond and waterfall area located near the corner of the yard. FRSR used a variety of natural boulders, cobble, and smaller river stone to create an organic-looking water feature that feels integrated into the surrounding landscape.

The water feature includes multiple elevations and carefully placed stones that direct the water into the pond. Larger boulders form the primary structure, while smaller rock fills the transitions and gives the feature a more natural appearance.

Mulch beds were installed around the pond and along the perimeter of the property to soften the rockwork and create room for future plant growth. These darker planting areas provide contrast against the lawn, decorative rock, and lighter-colored home exterior.

New sod was installed throughout the central backyard to create a clean, usable lawn. The lawn follows the curved outline of the patio and planting beds, helping each element blend together rather than appearing separate or disconnected.

Decorative rock was used around the foundation, side yard, trees, and transitions between the lawn and planting areas. Accent boulders placed throughout the property add structure and visual interest while helping connect the patio, pond, and landscape beds.

The completed Riteman Project gives the homeowners a backyard with a comfortable patio, open lawn, natural water feature, and a balanced mix of rock, mulch, trees, and planting areas. It is a practical outdoor space that also provides the sound and visual interest of moving water.
