Arvada Backyard Landscape Built with Stamped Concrete, Sod, Rock & Plantings

The Pifer Project in Arvada was designed as a complete backyard landscape upgrade with a clean balance of outdoor living space, green lawn, rock areas, plantings, and hardscape details. The goal was to create a finished backyard that looked sharp, handled Colorado conditions, and gave the homeowner usable space without overloading the yard with maintenance.

FRSR installed a stamped concrete patio off the back of the home to create a strong outdoor living area for seating, grilling, and everyday use. The stamped concrete finish gives the patio more detail and character than standard gray concrete while still providing a durable surface for Colorado weather.

A raised stamped concrete patio area and steps were added near the covered portion of the home, creating a clean transition from the house into the backyard. The elevation change gives the space more structure and helps separate the upper patio from the lower yard.

The backyard includes a curved sod area that gives the property a soft green center without making the entire yard high maintenance. The lawn shape helps the yard feel more custom and creates clean movement between the patio, rock beds, and planting areas.

Decorative rock was installed throughout the side yard and around the lawn to reduce maintenance, improve drainage, and create clean borders. The rock areas also help connect the stamped concrete, lawn, and planting beds into one finished landscape.

FRSR added trees, shrubs, grasses, and plantings along the lawn edges, fence lines, and side yard areas to bring structure, color, and long-term interest to the property. These plantings soften the rock and concrete while giving the backyard a more complete Colorado landscape feel.

The project also included side yard access, stepper areas, clean edging, and hardscape details to improve flow around the home. These details make the space easier to use while keeping the finished yard clean and organized.

The completed Pifer Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, sod, decorative rock, trees, plantings, and landscape construction can work together to create a finished backyard designed for Colorado homes.
