Erie Outdoor Living Project with Stamped Overlay, New Concrete & Built-In Grill Area

The Vanakkeren Project in Erie was designed to turn a bare side yard and backyard patio area into a finished outdoor living space with clean access, usable entertaining areas, and a built-in grill station. This project included both new concrete work and stamped overlay work to create one consistent finished look.

FRSR installed a stamped concrete overlay to upgrade the existing patio surface and give the space a much more custom appearance. The overlay helped transform the original concrete into a decorative patio finish without making the area feel disconnected from the rest of the yard.

New stamped concrete was also added to expand the usable outdoor space and improve the flow around the home. The stamped pattern gives the patio texture, movement, and a more finished look compared to standard broom-finished concrete.

A built-in outdoor kitchen was added as a major focal point of the backyard. The grill island was finished with stone-style veneer and built directly into the patio layout, creating a cleaner and more permanent entertaining area.

The side yard was finished with large concrete steppers set through decorative rock. This creates a clean walkway from the gate into the backyard while keeping the narrow access area low maintenance and easy to use.

Decorative rock was installed along the side yard, around the AC area, and along the patio edges to complete the space and reduce maintenance. These details help with drainage, keep the side yard cleaner, and make the finished project feel complete from gate to patio.

The finished Vanakkeren Project is a strong example of how stamped concrete, stamped overlay, an outdoor kitchen, side yard steppers, decorative rock, and clean concrete transitions can work together to create a polished outdoor living space.
