Brighton Backyard Built for Shade, Entertaining and Low Maintenance

The Simpson Project in Brighton was designed as a full landscape construction project that transformed a new-build backyard into a complete outdoor living space. The finished yard combines concrete patios, a custom pergola, artificial turf, firepit area, decorative rock, fencing, and planting beds into one clean layout.

FRSR installed a large concrete patio area to create a durable foundation for outdoor furniture, grilling, and everyday use. The patio connects directly to the home and creates strong traffic flow from the back door into the main backyard space.

A custom wood pergola was added over the patio to create shade, structure, and visual interest. The pergola helps define the main entertaining area while giving the backyard a more finished and intentional outdoor living feel.

Artificial turf was installed to create a clean, green lawn area without the watering, mowing, patching, or heavy maintenance demands of natural grass. The turf gives the yard a soft usable space that balances the concrete patio and surrounding rock beds.

A circular concrete firepit patio was built at the back of the yard with a custom stone firepit as the focal point. This gives the homeowners a separate destination area for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the backyard in the evening.

The yard was finished with decorative rock, planting beds, shrubs, grasses, and a privacy fence to create a clean ColoradoScape-style layout. These details reduce maintenance while adding texture and helping the backyard feel complete.
