Boulder Flagstone Patio and Landscape Installation

The Ashley Project in Boulder was designed as a natural, clean outdoor living upgrade using real flagstone, turf, decorative rock, boulders, mulch, and plantings. The finished space gives the homeowners a usable patio area while keeping the yard soft, shaded, and connected to the mature trees around the property.

FRSR installed a large natural flagstone patio to create a durable and timeless outdoor surface for seating, relaxing, and everyday use. The mix of stone colors gives the patio a custom look that fits well with the Boulder setting and the existing architecture of the home.

The patio area was designed to flow around the home, hot tub area, steps, and backyard lawn. This created better access through the space while giving the backyard a more finished and functional layout.

A turf lawn area was added to provide a clean green space without the heavy maintenance demands of natural grass. The turf gives the backyard a soft contrast against the flagstone, river rock, mulch, and boulder borders.

FRSR also cleaned up and rebuilt the landscape beds around the large existing trees, using boulders and rock edging to define the planting areas. These natural borders help protect the tree zones while giving the landscape a more intentional, finished look.

The surrounding landscaping includes decorative rock, mulch beds, shrubs, low plantings, and boulder accents. These details add texture and help soften the patio edges without making the yard feel crowded.

The finished Ashley Project is a strong example of how natural flagstone, turf, boulders, decorative rock, mulch, and planting beds can work together to create a polished outdoor space that still feels natural and comfortable.
