Finn Project – Thornton, CO Flagstone Patio, Roof Cover & Koi Pond
Natural Flagstone, Covered Outdoor Living, Fireplace, and Water Feature Design
The Finn Project in Thornton was designed to create a backyard that feels both comfortable and distinctive by combining natural stone, covered living space, and water into one cohesive outdoor environment. A natural flagstone patio forms the foundation of the project, bringing warmth, texture, and a timeless look that blends beautifully with the surrounding landscape.
An A-frame roof cover helps define the main gathering space and extends the usability of the patio by providing shelter and a stronger architectural presence in the yard. A fauxstone fireplace with seatwalls creates a natural focal point for gathering and relaxing, adding both comfort and visual weight to the design. These elements work together to make the backyard feel more like an outdoor room than a simple patio extension.
To complete the setting, a koi pond and decorative boulders were incorporated to introduce movement, sound, and natural character into the landscape. The combination of water, stone, and structure gives the entire backyard a more layered and peaceful feel while helping the space stand apart from a typical hardscape project. The result is a Thornton outdoor living environment built for relaxation, atmosphere, and long-term enjoyment.
