Landscape construction for a yard that works together.

New-construction backyard? Front yard ready for a ColoradoScape? FRSR designs and builds the whole outdoor space: patios, turf, rock, plants, lighting, drainage and the details underneath it all.

Family-owned since 1994, FRSR brings more than 30 years of Colorado landscape and outdoor living experience to the project. One contractor takes the work from the first walk-through to the final cleanup, with the layout, materials and construction planned around your property.

Experience you can see in the work

More than 30 years building Colorado landscapes.

FRSR started in 1994 with irrigation and grew into a full landscape construction and outdoor living company. We added decorative concrete in 2001. That history matters when a project calls for grading, drainage, concrete, turf, planting and lighting to be built in the right order.

We're proud to show real completed projects by community. You can see the materials, layout and finish details for yourself.

Start with the yard you want

What are you ready to change?

You don't need to arrive with a finished design. Tell us what you want to do outside, what isn't working now and what matters most to your family.

The FRSR approach

The parts you won't notice at first are the parts we plan first.

Colorado yards bring clay soils, grade changes, downspouts, strong sun and freeze-thaw. A patio, lawn or planting bed won't perform well if those conditions are ignored.

We look at where water goes, how people move through the yard, where irrigation belongs and how each material meets the next. Then we build the base, drainage and transitions to support the finished design.

That's what “One Contractor, One Design, Done Right” means on a jobsite.

One plan for the whole property

Landscape construction is more than a plant list.

FRSR can handle one focused project or a complete transformation. We coordinate the work so the finished space feels intentional.

Every complete build starts with the less glamorous work, too: demolition, grading, drainage, irrigation changes, base preparation and access planning. We can also help prepare project details for an HOA submission.

The materials and the craftsmanship

Here's what FRSR can bring into your project.

These aren't separate pieces picked from a catalog. We plan the grades, transitions, drainage and use of each area so the whole yard works together.

Stamped concrete patios & walkways

FRSR has built decorative concrete since 2001. We plan patio elevations and drainage before the pour, then use reinforced 4,000 PSI concrete, color hardeners, stamping, saw cuts and sealing as appropriate for the design. The patio should fit the home and connect cleanly to turf, rock, steps and planting beds.

Artificial turf & putting greens

A good turf installation starts under the surface. We look at excavation, grade, compacted base, water movement, edges, seams and infill before the lawn is finished. Turf can give a family usable green space while the rest of the yard carries rock, concrete and water-wise planting. We show you the actual current product and specifications in your proposal.

ColoradoScape, rock & planting

Front-yard conversions and planted backyards can combine shrubs, grasses, perennials, boulders, cobble, mulch and clean edging. We select plants for the site's sun and space, then plan soil preparation and drip irrigation around them. The goal is color, structure and a yard that uses water more thoughtfully.

Walls, steps & drainage

Sloped or awkward sites need more than a pretty surface. Retaining walls, steps, grading, swales and downspout solutions can shape a yard that's easier to move through and maintain. We work those decisions into the layout before finish materials cover the site.

Pergolas & roof covers

Colorado sun can make a beautiful patio hard to use in the afternoon. A pergola adds filtered shade, while a roof cover creates a more protected place to gather. We plan the structure with the patio, drainage, lighting and the look of your home in mind, including plans and permitting when required.

Outdoor kitchens & fire features

A built-in grill, useful counter space, storage, seating and a fire feature can turn a patio into a place your family uses regularly. We plan how people will cook, move and gather, along with the appliance, gas, electrical and ventilation needs of the actual project.

Choosing plants? Start with our ColoradoScape Plant Guide.

Plant selection makes a difference long after construction ends. We put together a Front Range guide to help you compare trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses and perennials by mature size, sunlight and how they fit into a Colorado landscape.

Use it to gather ideas for a new backyard or a front-yard lawn conversion. At your consultation, we can talk through what suits the actual site, irrigation plan and design.

Common questions

Before we get started.

Can FRSR handle the entire backyard?

Yes. We can coordinate the site work, patio, lawn or turf, rock, planting, drainage, irrigation, lighting and outdoor living features in one project. The exact scope depends on your property and goals.

Do you work on front-yard ColoradoScape projects?

Yes. We build planted, water-wise front yards with materials selected for the site, such as shrubs, grasses, perennials, stone, mulch, boulders and efficient drip irrigation. Explore our ColoradoScape work.

Can you help with HOA requirements?

We can provide project design information and material details to support a homeowner's HOA submission. Approval requirements vary by neighborhood.

What if I'm considering a lawn replacement rebate?

Program rules vary by city and utility, and some require approval before removing turf. Check our rebate guide and the administering program before committing to a design.

Do I need to know exactly what materials I want?

No. Bring us your priorities and examples you like. We'll talk through which options fit your site, how you want to use the yard and the budget you have in mind.
